The role of cloud computing in the modern business world appears to be increasingly significant, based on the results of the “IDC FutureScape: Worldwide Cloud 2015 Predictions” survey conducted by IDC. Read below to find out what IDC FutureScape predicts for the emerging cloud trends:
- More than 65% of large businesses will adopt hybrid cloud technologies before the end of 2015, leading to their fast and extensive restructuring.
- By 2017, 25% of businesses and organizations will allow their employees to develop their own automation solutions, simplifying all of their daily tasks.
- By 2017, those planning to purchase IT systems will allocate a bit more than 20% of their entire IT budget to cloud technologies, in order to enable flexible collaboration, information sharing and commerce.
- By 2016, more than 50% of businesses “building” hybrid clouds will purchase new or upgraded cloud management solutions.
- 60% of the SaaS (Software as a Service) applications will utilize embedded IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) functionalities by 2018, adding innovation to a “commodity” service.
- By the end of 2015, 65% of the selection criteria for in IT markets all over the world, will be determined based on their compliance with the legislation pertaining to data privacy.
- 75% of the solutions and services offered by IaaS providers are expected to be redesigned in the next two years.
- Within 2016, 11% of the IT budgets are expected to be re-allocated from traditional in-house IT needs to a variety of cloud versions, leading to a new distribution model.
- By 2017, 35% of new applications will be using cloud-supported continuous distribution solutions and DevOps lifecycles for even more rapid development and presentation of new features and business innovation.
