Don’t delay the deployment of ERP! It’s your loss!

Business Software

Any excuses aside, the deployment of an ERP solution is a necessity. Delaying it will only cost you more that you could probably imagine. Read on to find out what happens every day you postpone deployment.

Insufficient processes

You may not realize this, but there are ineffective processes and workflows in your business that actually cost you money. The deployment of an ERP solution gives you the opportunity to discover “blind spots” and then customize the system to your specific needs, so as to cover any gaps. During this process, you will most probably come up against duplicate, complicated or simply redundant processes. If you chose to not go forward with the deployment of an ERP system, you would simply continue to lose money and time – and you would not even be aware of it.

Lost customers

We are all familiar with the following scenario: A sales representative visits a potential customer in their facilities. The customer wants to place an order and the sales representative has a general idea of stock availability. They agree on the price and the shipping time, but by the time the sales representative returns to the office, the product is out of stock and consequently the information given to the customer is false. This situation inevitably damages the credibility of the business, and it may very well result in losing the customer.

An ERP system can prevent this risk, once and for all, as it offers a centralized platform with reliable real-time data, and enables you to provide even better services to your customers, while thanks to the cloud your partners will be able to access information and insights on the go, using their mobile devices.

Legacy system

It is not uncommon for businesses that believe that they do not need an ERP solution, to be actually using some obsolete version of a similar system. By definition, legacy systems are not easily supported and as time goes by, bugs and security issues start causing problems with data and processes, while the available resources do not suffice to update your system.

So, at what point do delay and the risk of a legacy system start becoming a real problem for your business? By the time you are no longer satisfied with your system, it will be much more difficult (and expensive) to migrate your data from the legacy platform to the new ERP system.
